Professional Experience
Jennifer Cunningham Beeler is dedicated to helping families in the areas of matrimonial law, guardianship, probate and estates. When she attended DePaul University College of Law, she focused her classes to earn a Certificate in Family Law as part of her law degree. This concentration has played out in her practice to include preparing pre- and post-nuptial agreements, drafting multi-faceted settlement agreements, litigating business valuation, and advocating in highly-contested child-related matters. Jennifer now has had more than a decade of experience in working with clients with high net worth, complex estate plans, family businesses and foundations. Her practice combines aggressive representation with skilled negotiation to create optimal outcomes for her clients.
Focus on Resolving Disputes
Recognizing that not every case has to be litigated, Jennifer also holds a Certificate from DePaul University’s Center for Dispute Resolution in Family and Divorce Mediation. She has been approved by the presiding judges in Lake County to serve as a financial and custodial mediator, and in Cook County as a financial mediator. When parties are vested in the mediation process, Jennifer has proven that she can reduce conflict and preserve assets, resulting in a more amicable resolution to a contentious divorce process. To compliment this, Jennifer is also a Collaborative Law fellow, ready to work with collaborative partners to explore tailored agreements for creative financial settlements, and personalized parenting plans.
Focus on Children
Jennifer serves as a Child Representative and Guardian ad Litem for custodial cases and is sought after in matters involving custodial disputes, development of parenting schedules, and enforcement of child support, college education expenses and visitation compliance. In addition, to her appointed roles in family courts, Jennifer is selected by Judges in Lake County to act as a Guardian ad Litem for elderly and disabled adults. She is an active member of the Illinois State Bar Association and of the Lake County Bar Association. She is a frequent speaker and author of articles on critical topics in family law.
Commitment to Service
Outside of the courtroom, Jennifer is active in community endeavors. She is President of the Lake Bluff Park District Board of Commissioners and is currently serving her second elected term. She has served on the various school boards and several charitable organizations.
In Her Personal Life
Jennifer lives in Lake Bluff with her husband and her dogs. She is the proud mother of two adult children.
